Name: Cory Lance Roberts A.K.A.: Cory Monster, Kijima Age: 23 history of Kijima: Cory began drawing in the anime style when he was around 15/16 years old. His style progressed, though still not as much as he wanted, even with the amount of practice. In 1999 he was accepted to the Art Institute of Philadelphia. He majored in animation, and learned that he would never be happy with a career in drawing. The original Studio Kijima website, had no host after the demise of AnimeNetwork, and with Cory's ambition to draw being drained out of him, not much new went on. Even now that he's out of school, he just doesn't draw as often. . .the inspiration doesn't show up as often. . .and while when the inspiration does show, it leads to some decent things (which you shall see on this site). . .in general, the inspiration to draw doesn't come to him as much as the inspiration for other things (music. . . .music. . . . .um. . . . .music. . .). Kijima's art has become a case of "do or do not, there is no try". It happens, when it happens. Lately though, a lot has happened, so he saw fit to bring back Studio Kijima. Here he shall showcase his latest works, as well as his progress (or lack thereof) in the retelling/reworking of the stories he tried to tell so long ago. For example, Crazeman. . . . a long story of the trials and tribulations of a young outcast with superpowers, has been retooled under a new less super-sentai name "Kijima- the abandoned". It's a much darker tale now, matching his personality in recent years. Crappyman, while not completely different, will have a definite ending. . .different than the one foretold originally. . .and this ending, will probably be the first part posted in this tale. . . .simply because he couldn't wait to start it.
